The connection
Completed in 1925, the American Club served Shanghai’s American expatriate community. Hudec’s design used a Georgian Revival exterior. The building later housed courts; Shanghai Huangpu’s 2023 account identifies it as the Shanghai Financial Court.
What to look for
Dark brick, pale stone trim and the arched windows of the upper floor.
